December 4

Saturday started with Scouting For Food. Luckily for me, I was a driver so I didn’t have to get out into the 30 mph winds and freeze my keester off. By the time the boys had been collecting canned goods for an hour and a half, I drove them through McDonalds for some hot chocolate. It was too cold to keep going!

That night, a babysitter came and Bryan and I escaped for the church adult Christmas party (yes, I do think it’s kind of strange to do a Christmas party with out kids at church, but it’s kind of nice too.) It was decorated beautifully with twinkling lights, large red paper cutout ornaments, small evergreens set about the room, red table clothes with gold chargers, greenery on the tables and red ornaments scattered about.

Dinner was served and it was good too – a green salad with pears, walnuts and poppy seed dressing and rolls, pork roast, carrots, asparagus, potatoes au gratin, and a mint ice cream pie for dessert.

Following dinner was a concert by Chris Harris, a member of Moosebutter, and the brother of a man in our ward. The music was great and it was nice for us to get away with each other for a nice dinner out.
