This is a meme that I enjoy doing every couple of weeks. It records the Little Things that are happening around our house, and the different thoughts and feelings I am having.
FOR TODAY (January 26, 2009)...
Outside my window... the sun is shining, a breeze is blowing and I can hear the whir of a generator and the tapping of hammers repairing our roof.
I am thinking... of ways to better keep my home organized and clean.
I am thankful for... my husband that doesn’t get annoyed with my mood swings and ‘me’ time.
From the learning rooms... my youngest is learning about hibernation, my oldest is learning about ants, and my daughter is learning to read. It’s so exciting to see little minds absorbing new information.
From the kitchen... I baked all weekend (pumpkin bread and banana bread) and that has left me with no desire to do anything today. I am planning on chili for dinner. Hoping to get some bread made for lunches this week.
I am wearing... jeans, white socks, and a gray tee-shirt. Basically the same as everyday.
I am creating... fabric bookmarks. We’re going to make these instead of having treats at a RS Board Meeting this week. So fun!
I am going... to be better about arranging play-dates for my kids with their friends.
I am reading... nothing. I just finished Circle of Quilters by Jennifer Chiaverini, and am planning to star The Star Garden by Nancy E. Turner tonight. I did read some of the Ensign this week.
I am hoping... that I can prepare my oldest for his baptism that will happen in a couple of months.
I am hearing... the washing machine. My two younger kids are watching Maggie and the Ferocious Beast (I love the library!), so I am enjoying a few minutes of quiet.
Around the house... the laundry is started, the floors are vacuumed, the dishwasher is waiting to be unloaded and beds still need to be made.
One of my favorite things... being creative. I’m finding myself at a cross roads with my scrapbooking, so I haven’t done much but I have still been creative. I’m hoping to teach myself to hand quilt. I better start on some research!
A few plans for the rest of the week: book club, RS board meeting, visiting teaching, Wal-Mart, reading and getting rid of some things around the house.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
We’ve had some serious wind, and the neighbors decided to have this tree cut down. The man was hanging from the tree in 50 mph winds to get it cut down before the wind knocked it down. The tree was swaying as he was cutting branches. It was very interesting to watch and a big relief when he was on solid ground again.

Wow. I would not want to be that dude in the tree. I didn't notice him until I read your commentary after it.
YOu've been busy girl. I have been so inspired by all of your bread baking that I actually made bread on Sunday. I've only made it about five times in my life so it was a really big deal around here. But all I could think about were all the times you mention your house smelling good from the baking bread and I wanted my house to smell that good too. So I did it. And we ate it all gone.
So glad you enjoeyd the pumpkin bread. I just made some last night and my hubby added a twist by putting a layer of brown sugar and cinnomon in the middle of the loaf. Most of it sank to the bottom, so the bottom crust is super yummy!
I hope you'll have a chance to stop by my blog and read about the amazing provisions the Lord has given us this week!
