Last week at Target I found these for my Lightning McQueen obsessed son:
They were on clearance for $2.43, so I bought them. I bought them in a size bigger than he is now so they will fit him over the summer. When we got home, I put them in the closet and told him that he could have them in the spring.
On Sunday at church, he drew a picture of boy with a frown.
“This is me,” he said.
“Why are you sad?” I asked.
“Because I want my Lightning shoes,” he responded. Then he started writing letters all over the picture.
{I was going to scan in the picture but I can’t find it. I must have thrown it away in my “destroy all piles” mode yesterday. Imagine, if you will, a brown crayon drawing of a large circle head, a stick figure (with a body) with really long arms, two dot eyes and a huge frown. No clothes. No hair. I suggested ears and he drew one line going up and one line going down (like Zurg’s!). With little three year old letters all around it.}
Instead, I’ll share this goodie of him at the beach last summer:

I so almost bought some from Sophie! What fun...and love the pic!
That is so funny. I can just imagine him wearing those to church.
