Daybook

FOR TODAY... Jan. 5, 2009 – National Bird Day, did you know?

Outside my window... we had a few inches of snow last night but it turned to rain in the night and it was all gone this morning.  Gray and gloomy with the promise of more rain over the next several days.

I am thinking... that I would like a trip home.

I am thankful for... our home – that it is warm, comfortable and full of the things we love.

From the learning rooms... school is back in for the big kids tomorrow.  I’m teaching pre-K on Wednesday for the littlest.  The theme is goals and I can’t find anything to go with this theme.  Not sure what to do about that.

From the kitchen... planning on some good caramel corn for family night tonight.

I am wearing... jeans, socks, t-shirt and a light jacket.

I am creating... grocery lists.  I’m starting a new grocery shopping program this month.  I’ve also been scrapbooking  a little.

I am going... to return a pair of shoes that I don’t like.

I am reading... Sarah’s Quilt by Nancy E. Turner.  It is the sequel to These is My Words.  I’m enjoying it but not as much as the first.

I am hoping... that I hear good news from the Oregonian Photo Contest.  I’m up for People’s Choice Award.

I am hearing... my oldest two kids playing together and getting along.  My youngest is at school.  When two are home they play nicely but that doesn’t seem to happen much when all three are home.

Around the house...  the dishes are done, the laundry is started and the vacuum is waiting.

One of my favorite things... is Almond Roca.  I haven’t had any for a couple years, but found a can on sale this year.  Love it.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Tupperware party on Saturday, Primary party Saturday, and hopefully some more scrapbooking.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

These are such a great archive.
I've heard great things about those books. I love that you find time to read.

Hang in there with the book - the last 100 pages are the best.

I'm enjoying the book more now, Julie. I'm probably 2/3 the way through. :)

Beautiful bird! One of the things I enjoyed most about being on the Gulf was bird watching.
I need to remember to do a Daybook post again.
Have you heard about the photo contest yet? Good Luck.
