Dreaming

I’ve been bitten by the spring cleaning bug.  I guess.  I’ve been de-cluttering, throwing things away, and reorganizing.  And I’ve been thinking about changes I would make if I had some money to spend on it.  Hopefully, I’ll find some good deals at yard sales this summer.  I’d love a chest of drawers for my boy’s bedroom.  Right now they use canvas bins under the bed, but the bins are falling apart and it just isn’t working.  I’d love a new stand for our TV.  Something small with a spaces on it for the VCR, DVD player, receiver, cable box and CD player.

Last night as we watched recorded episodes of Burn Notice, I surfed the IKEA website.  This probably wasn’t a good idea.  Now I have a whole list of things I plan on getting when my money tree blossoms.

I’d love these curtains for my boy’s room:

I’m certain I could find a use for these fun kid’s bins:

I’d like one of these to put under the coffee table to stash stuff when someone is coming over and I have short notice.

basket

I’d like this sofa for the front room.  And the matching chair.

Aren’t these little kid’s chairs so cute?

Our dishwasher doesn’t clean plastic bowls very well so I’d like to get rid of all the plastic bowls and get some of these:

I could go on and on.  But I wont.

What are you dreaming of right now?

We have a relatively new IKEA about 15 minutes from my home. This post is exactly why I haven't set foot in it yet. I'm terrified of wanting everything I lay eyes on!

I just went to IKEA today. That place is amazing. I recycled a computer monitor with the FREE GEEK people there, then went inside to wander. Such fun, but I get so turned around and claustrophobic when there are tons of PEOPLE. Jut leave me alone with all the cool STUFF : ) . . . and w/o an infant. I did buy a few little things: I'd planned on their great arm-length bibs, so picked those up.

I am dreaming of finishing a painting project of a used dresser I picked up for Emma. If you want her old dresser you are welcome to it. It's in great shape she just outgrew it. It's more of a child's dresser and she needed more drawers. It has three drawers and the dresser is solid wood. It is painted white right now.

I am so with you, Amanda! We've been organizing to move and while a lot of our current solutions work, there are a few dream items I really want. A couch is the biggest one. We've had the same futon for five years and it is really beginning to show it's age both in appearance and comfort. I would also love an extra chest of drawers too. My clothes and Aspen's are stored in baskets which seem to need reorganizing a lot. I am hoping some of our tax refund might get to go to these items and of course, stuff we'll need for the new baby.
