I saw a similar post on Janelle’s blog so I am stealing the idea.
Lately, my youngest is drawing people. They are basically circles with a face and four lines coming off. He gets all excited about it and tells me about each person he is drawing. He gets so excited about the little things in his life and I love it. If I wasn’t so lazy (and wouldn’t be interrupting a conference call), I would scan one in and post it. Maybe later.
Lately, my oldest is obsessed with video games. I always noticed that he gets obsessive (focused?) on something and sticks with it for a long time. When it was Legos or cars it was okay with me. It was cute. And he was playing and being creative. I’m not in love with him being so focused on video games. I’m new to being a video-game mom. I’m not sure what kind of rules I should have in place. Any suggestions? What do you do at your house that works?
Lately, I’m missing home like crazy. I guess I’m battling the winter blues. I miss my parents. I miss my girlfriends that I could call up and chat with. I miss having friends just down the street that I could get together with at the spur of the moment. Part of the problem, is that I don’t see a trip to Utah in my future until July and that will be for a wedding so it will be busy.
Lately, we’re rocking out to the Zac Brown Band. I love the song “Chicken Fried”. I’ve sung it enough that my kids think it says : “…a cold coke on a Friday night…” instead of “a cold beer on a Friday night.” If you don’t know what I am talking about go to here.
Lately, we’ve been playing games. My oldest got Monopoly for Christmas. I’m not sure how I could sit and play that game for hours and hours when I was kid. I really can’t stand to play it. My youngest likes Sorry. I like that one too. My daughter likes card games like Uno and Swap so we’ve been playing those. For Christmas I gave Bryan Kings In The Corner made by the people that made Sequence and it is a lot of fun.
Lately, I’m not motivated to cook and that needs to change.
Lately, I’ve been battling headaches. I cut caffeine from my diet and my head is revolting.
What have you been doing lately?

I'm with you on the winter blues! I am dying for spring to get here so we can enjoy the outdoors!
On video games, I think the type of games is a big factor. I would steer clear of violent ones and make sure he's not playing ones above his ability to avoid frustration. As for rules, maybe set a time limit you're comfy with?
I love board games, Sorry is my fave . Aspen likes Uno so we;ve been playing that a lot. I hate Monopoly, lol.
Good for you on the caffiene. I cut it too...had to...and I've had some headaches too. They should pass once your body detoxes.
I haven't felt like cooking either but eberyone else has , lol so I've been lucky.
Agree with the previous comment: Cutting caffiene is hard but Sooooooooo worth it.
Lately? I've been trying to get caught up on the house and appointments so when I go to London I can relax. My kids are getting cabin fever (already!) and my husband is working long hours.
Oh, and I never feel like cooking. :)
I agree with the previous bloggers, we all hate to oook!
I also miss home so bad. We just got back and I also have a few weeks of "pity me...why can't we live there?!" moments. I too, have no plans to go back till late spring or summer.
I am NEVER motivated to cook. Here ya there. We take breaks from video games to read books. Than after a certain amount of time the video games just have to be off.
I love Sorry too. Yes, Monopoly takes forever!!
