Mini - Vacation

Last week my hubby and my brother needed to go to a trade show in Redmond, Oregon. It was cheaper to rent a two-bedroom town home than it was to get hotel rooms so the kids and I tagged along. We stayed at Eagle Crest Resort in a cute little rental right on the golf course. It was heavenly.

While the men were working the kids and I rented bikes. My oldest and my daughter both need new bikes. I keep telling them to stop growing but it isn't working. My oldest got to ride a bike with hand brakes which he thought was very cool. I got to ride a bike with out hand brakes. It was very hard to me.
My youngest really wanted to rent what he kept calling a "baby-bike" which was just a little teeny-tiny bike with training wheels. I didn't let him and rented a bike with a seat on the back instead. He decided that it was cool. He had fun.
Here we are... Can you believe this is the first time I have worn a bike helmet? I really need to invest in one...
The resort has multiple pools and we spent a little time in two of them. It was fun to swim, and soak. My youngest likes jumping in, my daughter likes to be a fish, and my oldest worked so hard on the skills he learned in swimming lessons. He was supposed to do level 1 again, but we worked hard over the weekend so I decided it was okay to sign him up for level 2 this time around.
On the last morning that we were there we played a round of golf on the putting course. It was like miniature golf but with real grass, sand traps and water. Luckily they didn't charge for my youngest since was most interested in raking the sand traps:
And when he did play golf he did it more like he was shooting pool than if he was golfing.
Here are my golfing cuties:

We also went into the cutest little town of Sisters. It is a tourist-y town with lots of fun shops and the neatest quilting store. We ate the best pizza ever for dinner one night, and on our way out of town we stopped and had the best grilled cheese sandwiches and tater-tots.

It was so nice to get away for a couple of days. I am having the hardest time getting back into what I am supposed to be doing. You know, laundry that is piled so high. Vacuuming and sweeping that need to be done. Oh, well. Tis life, right? If you are ever planning a trip to Central Oregon, I highly recommend staying here.

Oh my gosh, you quilt? Share some of your things, I'd love to see! I had a brief quilting stint about 10 years ago and am getting back into it. FUN.

Your trip looked so relaxing and fun. What a great get-away!

We stayed at Eagle Crest before and had a blast renting and riding the cruiser bikes with the brakes you 'back pedal' to use. You'll have to go to huge quilt festival in Sisters next July! It looks like a very fun trip.

It is annoying how they just won't stop growing no matter how often we tell them to! :-)
Looks like you all had fun.
