Weekend

We had such a fun weekend with my mother-in-law (MIL)! It was nice and relaxing, too. On Saturday we went to see the VeggieTales:Pirate Who Don’t Do Anything movie. It was fun. My kids were all totally entertained (although, that might have been the Cherry Icee or the popcorn). I prefer my Veggies in shorter increments of time like Madame Blueberry (30 minutes) or the Ballad of Little Joe (40 minutes), but this Pirates movie was cute. The animation was great, and the story was good.

We also went to Oxbow Park. It is a great park! There is camping, and hiking, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, open space and it is right next to the Sandy river which is great for boating, fishing and throwing rocks in. The trees are all mossy and gross, but it was nice to walk around and have some fresh air. Here we are:
At some point on Sunday, Youngest endedup with a shiner. It is a mystery as to how is appeared.

On Monday, while Oldest was at school, Youngest was napping and Husband was working; Daughter, MIL and I went out to lunch at Red Robin (Have you tried their Whiskey River BBQ Chicken Wrap? If not, please DO. It is so good), and went shopping at the outlet mall. They just opened a Gymboree Outlet there and they had the cutest boy clothes. Boys clothes are so much cuter than girls clothes. Why is that? Daughter got a new jacket, Oldest got a new shirt, and I got a box of nylons (very thrilling, I know).

Today there was ice on the roads, so school was delayed for two hours. Daughter’s preschool was cancelled. It turned out to be a blessing because Oldest was able to spend a couple of extra hours with Grandma and she was able to walk with him to the bus stop. The kids and Grandma played lots of rounds of Uno, Trouble and Hit the Deck.

The grown-ups watched Catch and Release. It was interesting, but not great. It was an interesting look at relationships and how we affect people. Jennifer Garner looked far to grouchy through the whole thing. Of course, her fiancĂ© died so I wouldn’t expect her to look happy but a little less of a pout would have been good. We also played a new game called Five Crowns. It was fun. Pick it up if you like to play card-games.

What was your favorite part of your weekend?

I think that is the first picture I've seen of you! You look so cute!

We had the two hour school delay too which was nice because I was scheduled to be volunteering at school so this was more time to get stuff done at home.

That is the first picture! Very cute. You've had some good visitors lately, it's the nice thing about moving to a fabulous place. Not many people want to come visit us!

Preferring your veggies in small doses" reminds me of when my oldest was into Thomas and two hour Thomas and the Magic Railroad came out, now that was a painful adaptation!

it is so nice to see a picture with you and your husband in it! now i have a face to the name! such a cute family!

We really like the veggie tales shows. we do have the jonah one, which is super cute! the problem i have with them is that the tunes get stuck in my head so bad that it seriously keeps me up at night. very frustrating! other than that i love them!

i'll have to try that game! we have a very large store credit (due to christmas returns and duplicates) at a game store that only sells games, so i am in search of new games to buy! thanks for the recommendation!

And...I changed my vote. I have had several people tell me how fantastic digiscrapping is, i'd love to give it a shot! Have you switched yet?

Kelly, we have the Thomas and the Magic Railroad DVD. It is one that I don't mind if the kids want to watch.

Behka, I have tried to do Digital Scrapbooking but I just can't get it into it! I am not computer-literate enough and I love the feeling of putting things on paper and making pages.

Ahhh! Why do I wait so long to read other people's blogs?! I love your picture! You're beautiful, Amanda, beautiful! Like the others, I'm so glad to finally see what you look like. But you already knew that. :)

I'll be honest with you --if I truly had the time and the patience, all my scrapbooking would be done. I seriously need to just send them all to you and pay you to do them. Or maybe instead we could have a scrapbooking WEEK and we could get together (no kids, no hubbies) and just get 'er done! Oh, the dreams I have...

Cheryl! I would love to do your scrapbooks but I would love even more a girls weekend to scrapbook! Oh, that would be so fabulous!

Amanda,

I've been enjoying your blog and getting to know you better. You've got a great looking family. Maybe one day we can get together and our kids can play and our hubbies can talk about bike stuff (Trev bikes too)and we can go shopping. Keep in touch.
