First, I got so lucky and was able to find a babysitter for yesterday afternoon. Bryan took off work a little early and we hit the matinee to see National Treasure: Book of Secrets. I loved it. I thought that it was just as good as the first one. It is unbelievable, and kind of reminded me of Indiana Jones, but I liked it.
Since I just read Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, I decided that I would watch the movie. Daughter, Oldest and I spent two afternoons watching it on DVD. It was good! Oldest lost interest, would leave and come back but Daughter loved it. If you haven't seen it, see it. Soon.
I have read a few books lately too. Here they are:
Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters First 100 Years by Bessie and Sarah Delany. It is the story of two black sisters that have lived with eachother for over 50 years, and have both lived to be over 100 years old. It was a fast, fun read. I enjoyed thier insight on life.
Scrap Everything by Leslie Gould. It was okay. I thought that the author tried to put too much drama into the story, but she had a knack for making you want to know what happens next. I enjoyed it, but I am glad that I didn't buy it.
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montogomery. I can't believe that I am 28 and hadn't read this before. It was so good. What an imagination! LOVED it.
New Mercies by Sandra Dallas. Sandra Dallas is the author of other excellent books (the Diary of Mattie Spencer is my favorite), but I didn't like this one as much. It was okay. I thought that there was a lot of characters that were hard to keep track of. There was a couple interesting twists in her mystery (One I saw coming, one I didn't.)
So that is what I have been up to. What have you read or watched lately?

I agree with "New Mercies". I liked "Having our Say" too. I've read all the Anne books and they're so good. I have "Scrap Everything" on my list I think...

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and new year.
lots of love Kelli Brown.
Did you read all of the "Anne" series? I once sat and read all of them in one month. But by the time I got to the last ones, they got kind of boring.
I haven't read very much lately --I need to get going. I love your recommendations. I need to get on it!
Anne of Green Gables is our story. Nathan and I had the best friend relationship turn romantic and while we were watching that movie together was when Nathan first intentionally touched me. Played with my hair. I can't wait for my daughter to read the books and see the movie with me. Although I am going to wait until she reads it before watching it. I am a purist that way.
Kelli, Yes! I am so excited to have a Cricut...now I just need to figure out how to work it...
Cheryl, no, I didn't read the whole series. Just the first one. One of these days, I will read the others.
I'm about to start reading the "Twilight" series by that new LDS female author...have you heard about them? All my friends are into them and swear that I need to read them...so I plan to start the first book this week.
Marchetz, I have read the first two of the Twilight series and I have the third one to read. I have enjoyed them but the second was way better than the first.
I have been wanting to see NT2- so glad you liked it! It's been awhile since I watched a movie or read, but I was reading Fablehaven-it was interesting, but I've gotten distracted too much lately. lol
All those books, the thing that hit me is that you are only 28?!!!!! I just finished eclipse, book 3 of Twilight. Couldn't put it down! But I will say I am not a Bella fan anymore.
