I'm taking a cue from Holly and posting something that was read in sacrament meeting today. It really hit me hard, and was just what I needed to hear.
"I feel certain that if, in our homes, parents will read from the Book of Mormon prayerfully and regularly, both by themselves and with their children, the spirit of that great book will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein. The spirit of reverence will increase; mutual respect and consideration for each other will grow. The spirit of contention will depart. Parents will counsel their children in greater love and wisdom. Children will be more responsive and submissive to the counsel of their parents. Righteousness will increase. Faith, hope, and charity—the pure love of Christ—will abound in our homes and lives, bringing in their wake peace, joy, and happiness. … " -Marion G. Romney

I love this quote from Marion G. Romney. We have decided to study the Book of Mormon for FHE this year. I figure we use all the blessings the Lord will give us. I hadn't checked your blog in awhile. I will be better about checking in. I just need to add you to my list on my page so I remember!
This is an awesome quote. The year that President Hinckley did his Book of Mormon challenge, my husband and I read it together. The spirit in our home was a tangible thing. It was amazing at how our much better our perspectives and our reactions and responses were. The next year, we weren't as good about it and we could tell the difference. We are now back to reading with each other each night and it's so neat. Our goal now, is to incorporate a regular family scripture time as well.
This was a great quote. Thanks for joining Scripture Sunday!
