The Puppies

My brothers dogs had puppies.  They’re about seven weeks old now and I tell you, I have never been so tempted to get a dog. These dogs are so stinkin’ cute!  There are three dogs, two about the same size and one that is a little smaller and quieter.  When we went to dinner at my brother’s on Sunday Bryan commented that there was a dog for each child…my oldest and my daughter are about the same size and my youngest is smaller.  But not quieter.  Immediately, my daughter and my youngest started calling the dogs by their own names. My daughter held the dogs and petted them.  My youngest pet them and admired them in their little home.  My oldest stood in the doorway and looked at them.

After dinner my youngest started to get tired.  He announced, “Okay, dad.  Let’s get our doggy and go home.”  He was convinced that we were taking the littlest (named after him, of course) home.  Bryan responded that we are not taking a dog home, and my youngest’s face just fell.  He was absolutely crushed that he wasn’t bringing his namesake home.

On the way home, I had myself convinced that we should adopt one from my brother (who is not keeping them all) but then I thought about puppies and how they like to chew up socks and underwear that children have a tendency to leave on the floor.  I also thought about how it’s nice to go on a trip with out having to worry about where the dog is going to go.

But, then I look at this face and I want to bring it home:

As I was getting this ready my youngest was sitting on the couch with me watching Cars and he saw the picture and exclaimed, “oh! my doggy!”

I don't like animals. And a dog is at the top of my list. But that last picture? Oh my gosh! It looks like a soft, snuggly stuffed toy. Too much.

The whole time I was reading I was composing a DON'T DO IT comment in my head. But that wrinkly little guy!! I'll just whisper *don't do it*.

The thing that would scare me the most is the puppy factor. It's no different from having a new baby.

But look at that last picture! LOVE!

They are so cute...I always loved this breed. I agree with your firend, don't do it. It's a pain when you want to leave down and have to find someone to take the dog or pay $ to have him boarded.

Still...they are super cute!

Oh, DO IT! It will be a hard two months with the potty training, and a bit longer with the chewing and things. We met us a "puppy trainer" in the beginning and she taught us some great tricks. You'll have so much fun. Do it!! (you're not going to do it, are you?) :)

Holy Adorable Squishy Face, Batman.

I am DYING here. Please get one. Just for me, because I can't, and you can. Those pups are adorable.

Oh wow those puppies are so cute. It would be so hard to pass it up now that your kids have loved on them! Thanks for all the blog love by the way.

Sweet picture. That is a face that would certainly be difficult to walk away from.

Ohhhhhh, so sweet. I always had dogs growing up but with little kids we haven't bee so ambitious. My hubby's policy? Not until EVERYONE is potty trained!

Those puppies ARE adorable! And I'm not a dog person. I do know that someday I will have to cave and get one for my kids but that will be a few years off. Go for it!! Your kids would be so happy.

Yes they are darling...but then again that's what I said about both of our cats before we brought them home. I was totally smitten with them until I became the only one who could clean the litter box, they started shedding all over our house and the real kicker....when the older one was late getting neutered and started spraying all over our home. Oh...don't even get me going about that. It was a nightmare. A couple years have gone by and they've been fixed and no longer spray, but I am still cleaning the litter box, cleaning up their fur off of literally everything and chasing them with a water bottle when they start tearing up the carpet. Not so cute.

The dogs are darling, but I am just not an animal person anymore, lol.
