Oldest

Oldest came home from the school library with this Guide to Field Identification Birds of North America book. He chose this book because he found that blue feather at recess and wanted to know what kind of bird it came from. The librarian helped him find this book and they decided that the feather came from some sort of Jay.

He announced later that he plans to be a Bird Watcher when he grows up.

Then the next day he came home with this book: National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Birds - Western Region

Think anyone will pay him big bucks for this?

He and J can work together because J says he is going to be a wildlife photographer. So Oldest can find them and J can take the pictures. Then they can sell them to National Geographic and make us all rich!

Awesome!! I love bird watching but haven't done any of it since high school. Who knows, maybe there's somebody out there willing to shell out the $!

Hey, it takes all kinds. Someone has to keep track of the birds. I like the National Geographic idea.

I love birding. Yes, that is what it is actually called. Tell him to start a list now and when he is older it will be cool to see how many birds he has identified.

We assume that the feather is from some sort of blue jay.

We've taken our kids birdwatching since they were little......it's really addictive!! And so fun when your little one can spout off the identity of a bird!!! Enjoy!!
