How on earth is it Friday all ready? I swear. This week flew by.
On Saturday, we went hiking. Five miles. Through the mud. Behind waterfalls. And, the kids all walked the whole thing. And the only complaining came in the last mile, and by then his four-year-old legs were tired. (Heck, mine were tired! And Bryan was the one carrying the pack with drinks and lunch in it.)
We went to Silver Falls State Park. It was a bit of a drive, but it was a pretty drive. Pretty country. Lots of farms and fields to admire.
There are three loops to choose from. The first was about 2 miles, and you saw three waterfalls. The next was 5 miles and you got to see seven waterfalls. The next is just under 9 miles and you would see ten waterfalls.
We did the five mile loop. It took us behind two waterfalls (wet and cold!), and it was absolutely beautiful. My youngest got nervous a couple times on the trail and would clasp his hands together and pray. It was cute.
There was lots of people on the trails, but we were surprised how few families and children there were. I’m not sure we saw anyone under the age of 15 except our kids. I take that back – we saw one baby being carried.
We stopped for lunch about half way through and everyone snacked on baggies full of trail mix as we went. It seemed like a great state park. In the summer, there is swimming. Playgrounds. Covered pavillions. Volleyball courts. We’re definitely headed there to camp this summer. (I hope we’re not too late to get reservations!)

That sounds like so much fun! Your pics were gorgeous! We've been enjoying gorgeous warm weather here and spending time at the park and on walks. Ashley and Aspen even went swimming even though the pool is still crazy cold!
I love that state park. What a lovely day to hike, your pictures are beautiful.
