Texture + Temple

So, I started a Jessica Sprague PSE 7 class over the summer.  I’m finally getting around to finishing it up (having kids in school is grand!) and today’s “class” was textures in Photoshop.  I wasn’t sure that I liked it but figured that I would play with it just so I know how to do it and this is what I ended up with:

Jessica recommends using textures on pictures that don’t have smiling faces so I played with this shot I got when Bryan and I went to the temple the other day.  For some reason the one set of textures wouldn’t down load so I used two different ones here instead of three like she recommended.  She likes to mix and match textures for a complete look.  Also, I used the soft light blending mode.  She recommends using only soft light, multiply or overlay.

What do you think?  Do you like it? Hate it? Why?

I think I like it, but I can’t decide.

I think it is beautiful.

The only thing I might change is to have the more distressed part on the right side, in the trees instead of by the temple spire. It kind of distracts your eye from the spire.
