Simple Woman's Daybook

I've seen this Meme hosted by The Simple Woman on a couple of different blogs - 2 Kids & Tired and At Shore's End and have always enjoyed reading the answers, so I thought that I would participate today.

Outside my Window... are clouds, green leaves, a yard in desperate need of weeding and a peaceful breeze blowing.

From the learning rooms... (this is supposed to be for home-schoolers, and I don't home school, but I do try to teach in the home) backpacks are ready, a lunch box is bought, patches are ironed on new jeans for school. (Hopefully teaching the kids frugality, and preparedness by example.)

I am thankful for... summer months, good books, washing machines, sourdough bread and phone calls from home.

From the kitchen... is a big stack of dishes, and all the dinner (sourdough pizza, apples, and oranges) all eaten.

I am wearing... striped lounge pants that make me look like a clown and a v-neck tee shirt.

I am reading... September by Rosemund Pilcher. I'm having a hard time with it...a little too descriptive. Up next: A Candle in the Darkness and The Last Summer (of You and Me).

I am hoping... that school goes well for my kids, that the rain holds off, and that we can manage a trip to Utah soon.

I am creating... scrapbooks. I still haven't printed pictures (since like February!) but it has forced me to do pictures that I haven't wanted to finish. For example, I finished the album from Bryan's trip to China three years ago, as well as a stack of dance/class pictures from my school years. Right now, I am putting the finishing touches on the album from our Mexico trip almost two years ago.

I am hearing... The breeze as it rustles through the leaves. Cars on the busy street a couple of blocks away, and the silence that fills a home when the kids are in bed.

Around the house... are stacks of stuff. Today I spent my time doing laundry and getting our bedroom in order. When I concentrate on one or two tasks the rest of the house seems to fall apart. I am also reading It's All Too Much by Peter Walsh, and he has me convinced to change the way my house is.

One of my favorite things... having a snack after the kids go to bed. For me it is an excellent way to end the day.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week... Back-To-School night, soccer practice, the library, and playgroup for church.

A picture thought...

A photo from our weekend camping trip.

I'm glad you did it. I think I'm going to do it every week...

Are you not enjoying Pilcher?

Where did you go camping at? It's beautiful.

Is that Mt. Hood?

Loved this post. It's nice to hear how you are doing from a different perspective. And I'm seriously thinking about making you do all my scrapbooks. You wanna move in for a year? ;)

Holly, I'm having a hard time with the book, but I am plowing through it. I have been told that The Shell Seekers is better so I will add that to my to-read list.

Darilyn, We went up on Mt. Hood to Trillium Lake. It was beautiful!

And Cheryl, yes that is Mt. Hood. And, I would be happy to move in and scrapbook for you! As long as there is pizza occasionally. ;) Send me some pics and I would be happy to put them in an album!

That is a beautiful picture! I'm so glad you decided to do the Daybook meme, it's my favorite one. Thanks for your info on Oregon, it's a place we're seriously considering.

I have a question about Scrapbooks for you...Do you do Digi ones? If so...what do you suggest for a beginner like me as far as software goes?

So great, maybe I'll do it too. But the kids will want me off of the computer at least until nap time.
