I have had some of the greatest friends in my years. One particular friend of mine is Sariah. I was thinking the other day how we have been friends for ten years (did you realize that, S?!), and how we have so much in common.
We both worked at the place I met my husband. We both got married in 1999 - me in September, her in October. We both have the same brother-in-law (she married the brother of my sister's husband.) We both have two boys (she just needs to have a daughter!) We both love to read. We both make quilts. We both love movies and girl's-night-out. I think that she understands me in a way that other people can't.
Then two years (two? or three? I can't remember but I really think two) ago she did something horrible.
She moved to Alaska! Sheesh. That is 3000 miles away!
Over the last couple of years, we have exchanged books by mail. We have exchanged emails and phone calls. She has known when I needed a friend and has been there for me.
The latest? She sent me this:
What a truly wonderful surprise! Thanks so much, Sariah. I started it tonight, and I am sure that my family wont eat anything better than cold cereal and spaghetti o's for a couple of days. ;)
