It doesn’t seem like I’ve done much blogging lately. There was the photo challenge. And the brownie. But other than that, not much. I’m not sure why. I’ve been writing more in my “mother’s notebook” so maybe that’s why.
Our lives have been taken over by sports, too, so that may be part of it. We have one in T-ball (who is absolutely loving it so it’s very cute), one in soccer (who has played for so long she is certain there is nothing left for her to learn and thus wants to quit going to practice) and one in track (well, two in track but the main focus for the second is soccer.)
On top of that both of the NBA teams that we follow made it to the play-offs. The Suns beat out the Blazers in the first round so we are no longer staying up to late every night to watch games. The Jazz are struggling against L.A. in the second round. I have hope though. I would love to see them beat the Lakers. Badly.
And on top of that I am supposed to do a race this weekend. I did it last year. It’s a 6.7 mile walk. Last year, I finished in 1 hour 47 minutes 12 seconds. This year, I would love to beat that time but I haven’t put in enough time training so my goal is to finish in under 2 hours. Please don’t point out to me that my sister ran a half marathon in 2 hours 5 minutes a couple weeks ago. Please don’t. I will feel SO slow if you do.
I substituted in my son’s primary class for two weeks at church. Two hours with five four-year-olds makes me glad grateful for the cute couple that normally teach that class. Also makes me glad that I’m not a pre-k teacher. But that’s a whole other story.
We got some family pictures taken on Saturday. We had a friend take them in a park by ourselves. My children were total cheese-balls so we didn’t get a whole lot of pictures that I will frame and put on the wall. A few though and really that’s all we need. Our friend gave us the pictures on a disc…they are in RAW format and I’ve played with some of them, but I’m not loving the results yet. I’ll share more when I have the time to go through them. In the meantime, here’s a peek:

Don't compare your times to anyone else. You're walking, it doesn't matter how fast. Have fun!
