Utah

Despite what you may be thinking, I have not fallen off the edge of the earth.  I decided that since we were headed to Utah for a family reunion/wedding celebration that I would take my kids early so we could see lots of people with out feeling like we were constantly in the car and on the run.  It was perfect.

Bryan stayed behind and worked while the kids and I played, visited, relaxed, swam, and had fun.  Although it was fun, it was too long to be gone with out Bryan.  We missed him like crazy.  He flew in after almost two weeks in time for the family reunion and wedding celebration.

In my regular list making fashion, here is what we did by the numbers:

  • Number of places fished at : 3 {Vivian Park, Payson lakes and Lilly Lake} Number of fish caught: 0
  • Number times I squeezed into my swimming suit: 6
  • Number of haircuts I did on vacation: 10
  • Number of times I ate at my favorite fast food place (Sonic) : Only 2.  A tragedy really.
  • Number of times I ate at Los Hermanos: 2  Yum!
  • Number of minutes I took to complete the Ute Stampede 5k: 49
  • Number of minutes it took my oldest to complete the Ute Stampede 5k: 39
  • Number of games we played: About 603.  And that is at least 12 too few.
  • Number of ladies at Girls Night In: 6 (Cheryl, Julie P, Annette, M&M, and Alison Wonderland)
  • Number of plays I saw at the Hale Theater while the kids saw Up with Grandpa: 1  It was Singin’ in the Rain and it was good but not the best I’ve seen there.
  • Number of times I went to church in the ward I attended HS in: 2
  • Amount of time spent reading: 3 hours.  In 16 days.  Man, I slacked.
  • Number of posts in google reader when I got home: 356
  • Pounds gained on the trip: 7.  At least that, I’m sure.  Honestly though I haven’t gotten on the scale.
  • Number of pictures I took: 400-500, I think.  I’m too overwhelmed to go through them though.

Now we’re home.  The kids aren’t sleeping in to recover from all the late nights, it’s hot and I’ve realized that Portland to Coast is in less that 1 month.

I can’t imagine not having AC.  Even with our AC running non-stop, it is still hot.  We Oregonians aren’t used to these triple digit temperatures.  I wish I was at the beach.  Yesterday it was 108 here.  Today is supposed to be hotter.

And now, I must get some laundry rotated and make my house presentable for the visiting teachers.  And I need to figure out how to get rid of fruit flies.  Anyone know?
