I'm having mixed feelings over the results of the election. I'm very conservative, and am disappointed that many of the people I voted for didn't win. But, at the same time, I am excited for the opportunity my daughter (and my sons) have to see a black man in the highest office in the land. I'm excited for the racial barriers that have been broken. I pray that he will be the man that so many people think he is. I pray that he has our countries best interests at heart. I am also remembering something that Melinda said yesterday, God is in control. In the end, God is watching and knows what is happening. I believe that.
I was very impressed with John McCain and his speech. He did a wonderful job. He was graceful, and positive. I'm grateful today to be a part of this democratic system. A little nervous, a little hopeful.
God bless the U.S.A.

Yes! I agree. Well said Amanda!
I'm feeling pretty good about it too. November is feeling hopeful already.
I couldn't agree more!
When they announced Obama had won I told my husband that I felt sad that I couldn't get behind him because of how historically significant this is, not only for this country, but for our daughters as well. I just don't agree with him politics, but I too hope he has our countries best interests at heart.
I really think he will unite our country in a way we haven't seen in many years. I'm so excited to see what the next four years have in store.
Well written, I totally agree. :)
Okay - so it took you, what - five sentences? To say what it took me a page and several afterthought comments to express. Well done, Amanda - well felt and well thought.
Thanks for the plug, lol. I just spoke my heart. I think it's important for everyone to remember that no matter who we voted for or how we may or may not feel about Mr. Obama, we should all take the time to pray for him and his family and the new administration that is about to take on tremendous challenges. He has a failing economy, unhealthy planet and wars to reckon with. I think the fact that he is the first black president must in a way make his job harder because of the expectation placed upon him by the entire world.
I too am excited about the racial barriers broken by this election. I don't agree with everything Mr. Obama is about, but I too hope he has America's best interest at heart and I will pray for him and support his administration in every way I can.
Ditto!!! While I was disappointed too...I think it is wonderful that we get to see history in the making. Hopefully this will really help our country to be colorblind!
Amen! I couldn't have said it better myself.
