We're almost done with soccer for this season. My oldest has two games left and my daughter has one. I love soccer. I love watching it. I love that they are enjoying it and improving, but I am ready for a break. And the end of soccer season means that Thanksgiving and Christmas are sooner.
I'm in love with fall in Oregon. In Utah, my favorite season is winter. I love snow. I love playing in it, watching it and shoveling it. Winter here stinks. It is rain and more rain. And it's gloomy-the sun doesn't peek out like it did in Utah! But fall? Oh, my oh my, fall is beautiful. The weather is crisp, the colors are vibrant (they probably don't compare with those of New England but I've never been there in the fall), and there are trees everywhere so there are many beautiful trees to look at in awe.
Here in Oregon we vote by mail. Bryan and I got our ballots in the mail Friday. I'm excited to vote this way. I'm even more excited for the ads, phone calls and door to door people to be done with. When I registered to vote, I registered as a republican. Bryan didn't put a party down. It is interesting to me how many phone calls, and mailers he has gotten. The one that blew my mind though, was when a candidate's campaigner came by and asked for Bryan specifically and didn't want to talk to me at all. The candidate is a democrat. We wont be voting for him.
Awhile ago I decided to try to make some money scrapbooking so I opened an Etsy shop. I wasn't sure if anything would come of it, but I sold a lay out! I'm thrilled. So, go check it out and come back soon because I am planning to list more soon.
I am feeling homesick once again. After a year, I would think that this would stop but I suppose that I will always miss the people in Utah.
My youngest was Bob the Builder last year for Halloween. Until two days ago he was all excited to be Bob the Builder again. Then I had him watch Toy Story and got our a Woody doll that we have. Now he is set on being Woody for Halloween. The problem is that now I have to try to round up a costume! I went to the fabric store and couldn't find any cow print fabric for a vest, I don't know what shirt he is going to wear and I don't have a holster. He has jeans, a cowboy hat and boots. We'll see what I come up with. I did get my oldest's Jedi costume sewn. Feeling quite proud of that. My daughter is going to be a witch. I'm praying the dress from last year still fits. And if it doesn't, I hope it will still work with a pair of leggings underneath.

Your first sale! That is so exciting!
I'm sorry you're still missing home. But I imagine that is a healthy thing; it speaks highly of the place you were raised and the people you associated with.
I love voting by mail because it makes me research stuff more with the ballot in front of me and I have more time to research than the day of the election.
Congrats on your Etsy sale. And...you are one awesome costume making mommy!!
Oh, I love randoms!!
Congrats on your first sale...here's to many many more!!
congrats on the etsy shop. it's great that you can use one of your many talents to bless your family $wise...or just support your scrapbooking habit!
how fun about the etsy shop, awesome!
And I love fall too. Anywhere really.
And of course I miss everybody in UT too. It's especially hard in the fall because there are a lot of birthdays and family events to miss, and that's always tough.
Good luck on the costumes!
Congrats on your sale! I may have to become a customer!
Fall there sounds gorgeous. I do love Vegas this time a year...just miss the vibrant colors of the trees.
After being in Vegas for 6 1/2 years, I still miss home! It's even worse when the Hoildays come around.
I understand your homesickness. Fall is the time of year that always brings that out for me. Congrats on the Etsy shop! I used to make and sell 2-page 12x12 layouts on eBay and typically got $20 a piece for each set. I need to get back to making those again.
My son is going to be Woody. He was Buzz last year. But I don't sew so I just bought his costume.
