And, I was really trying to not snack, because I wasn't hungry. Anyway. I went outside and started hitting the tennis ball against the garage (why, yes, I am sure that my neighbors and sweet husband who works from home loved this.) I worked up a little bit of sweat, and was disgusted the next morning when I woke up sore. Yes, playing tennis in my driveway against the garage made me sore. I suppose the garage won. :(
The next day, I decided that I better try again. This meant though that Oldest wanted to play too. I decided that it would be okay to teach him so I started the job. First, I explained about backhands, and stuff. I am certain that all went over his head. He just wanted to hit the ball. So, we practiced by me bouncing the ball to him to hit. I got tired of that and let him have at it against the garage.

So cute!!
I just wrote a big comment and somehow blogger erased it, oh well! Now I can't remember what I was saying.
I got sore after our first lesson too--I felt silly but I guess those are muscles I don't use very often. Tennis is really fun but harder than I expected it to be.
We love it though, especially Max. He grins ear-to-ear during his entire lesson each week!
How fun! I love tennis but it has been about 12 years since I have played. So sad. Good for you for dusting off the rackets.
I bet that Travis will be a pro at it! Just wait until Natalie gets in the mix.
I love that you've found something you enjoy and can use it as exercise! Whoo-hoo!
He is adorable. I love it when kids try something new and are undeterred by their lack of skillz. I remember being like that once --weren't we all?
Awesome! I love "the garage won." Keep practicing, you'll whip that garage soon!
I was sore after pushing Quincy on the swings, much worse than tennis with the garage.
I used to ROCK the garage wall!! I won everytime. With real people, not so much. YOur post makes me think I should show that neat trick to the kids...
Love the pictures and the holes in his jeans are totally hip!
