In my primary class today we talked about King Benjamin. I don’t know what I have done to deserve this but this was the conversation that took place:
boy 1 : I can’t wait for the election. We are voting for McCain. (Yes, these kids are 8)
girl 1: My mom and Dad are voting for Obama.
girl 2: How could you vote for Obama? He kills babies!
boy 1, girl 1: What?
boy 2: What about Hillary?
Me: NO POLITICS! We are talking about King Benjamin!
How does one Sunday school lesson go so wrong? Ugh...
-------------------------------------------
On to my favorites from the week:
- Finding sourdough bread for .99 and having mini pizzas for lunch
- Helping Bryan stuff 400+ envelopes and get them ready for mailing
- Seeing how excited my youngest two kids were to have the missionaries over for dinner. Oldest went suddenly very shy and hid and wouldn’t eat in the room with them. Weird.
- Reading the Sunday paper at the table with Bryan. We do this each Sunday while we eat lunch. I love the routine of it.
- Vegging on the couch and watching The Fugitive with Bryan. (Any one else think Harrison Ford looked really old even 15 years ago?)
- Fresh from the oven bread with butter and honey.
- Reading a good book on the porch while the kids play in the sunshine.
- Finding a stack of books and movies (on VHS) at D.I. for $10.
- Oldest lost his second top tooth.
I hope you all had a nice week!

Sounds like a fun week. That is so funny the 8 yr olds were talking politics! Who would have thought.
Everything about your favorite list was divine! Warm bread, honey!! Reading the paper. I can't remember the last time I sat down and read the paper. I remember before kids having a subscription to The New York Times and the local paper and devouring them on Sunday! I need to get back to that.
The primary lesson is hilarious. I want to hear more of their political views. It's a long way to November, good luck!
The primary lesson is so funny. Kids!
Maybe your oldest has a crush on one of the missionaries!
My favorite from the week was feeling all the love emanate from my ward.
what a week. Primary kids are so silly sometimes, aren't they? They think they know so much.
I like the sound of the oven fresh bread with butter and honey, count me in on that one!!!
