Makeover

Long ago, I decided that I wanted to pain the front door and shutters on our house black.  They are this faded maroon type color, and our house is gray.  A few months ago, the door knob on the front door broke and we had to replace it.  Then, about a week ago the deadbolt needed replacing, so yesterday my husband took the door off the hinges, sanded the door down and I painted.

Here’s the before:

Here’s the after:

Much better.  Don’t you think?

Happiness.

Now for the shutters.  That project is a bit bigger than the door.

I love it! Very classy! I have always wanted a black door and black shutters, but Brian wanted a wood door and we don't have shutters-- maybe on our next house...

Looks great! Now I want to paint something! Or rather, I want to have something painted! (I'm not so good with the painting projects, personally.)

It looks so great! Did you use one of those paint sprayers? I need to redo our front door before the cold hits, but last time I used a brush (which is why I need to redo it).

Super nice! I know a home makeover isn't important in the grand scheme of things, but I too LOVE to do little updates to my house...it makes it feel like more of a home when you do what you want to it. So much fun :)
