OMSI

We were lucky enough to have some friends come to town for a visit last week.  We had so much fun with them here.  While they were in town we went to OMSI {Oregon Museum of Science and Industry}.  We liked it so much, we went back the next day.

It’s a great place to go if you come visit the Portland area.  We went last year, and my youngest (then 3.5-4) was a little young for it, but this year there was more that he was interested in.  All ages (4.5-11) seemed to find stuff to keep them entertained.

My youngest did a puppet show.  My oldest and his friend used a computer program to see what they will look like when they are old (65) – it was weird!

The played with the rocket, and pretended to be astronauts.

My daughter experimented with rubber band paddle boats, and we made a free-standing arch.

We played with gears, and made an arch bridge.

It was fun.  Some of the group went on the real submarine tour and from what I hear (I didn’t go), it was very cool.  Or as my almost-five-year-old said, “sort of fun.”

I love OMSI. Even as a teen I would beg my grandparents to take me there when I visited them in Vancouver, WA.
