Moss

For Christmas we got a new camera.  The Nikon D3000.  It’s awesome.

I’ve been in a bit of a funk and yesterday when I was getting ready to drop the youngest off at preschool, I didn’t want to go home. I knew if I went home I would spend the whole two hours on the computer or eating.  I knew if I went to the store, I’d spend money I don’t have so I instead headed east to the Columbia River Gorge.

I took 100+ pictures.

Oregon is full of moss.  It grosses me out.

I know people around here love it though.

It does make for some interesting photos.  It grows on trees:

On rock walls by the trails:

Some moss even grows ferns in it:

This one is on the wall that lines to road and keeps the cars from crashing down the mountain side.

I’m not crazy about moss…but it does make it interesting! (And I am starting to get used to it.)

You may not like it, but your camera sure does!!!! Those pics are AWESOME! Nothing like an impromptu photo shoot to get out of a funk! :)

It is beautiful! Your pictures are so wonderful!
I really like your idea to not hop on the computer or spend money, I think I just may have to use this little technique myself. Thanks for the tip. I enjoyed the pictures!
If you'd like to stop by my blog I'm at Cake Crumbs.

Seriously beautiful!! You crack me up, though, that you think it's gross. I thought it was kind of exotic when I first moved here!

Lovely shots! Isn't it fun to take a little outing like that, just for photos? It makes you look at things in a completely different way. Thanks for sharing.

This is why I like you so much. I never think, "I'll go take pictures in the xyz" instead of going to the store or going home and wasting time. You are an inspiration and the pictures of the moss are beautiful.

Love the second picture of the moss on tree. They all are gorgeous but that one stands out to me.

The pictures are lovely. I've really wanted a new camera for a while, but yesterday Clark threw mine and it broke, so I pretty much think that sealed the deal.

Either that or I'm going to have to use my phone camera for the rest of my life.
