Random Stuff

My oldest just finished up a science section at school where they learned about penguins. The ending activity for the section? Dissecting squid. He was super-excited about it. He did say that the whole school smelled though. They even got to use the ink in the squid to write their names down. I think it sounds gross.

Tulip Fest in Woodburn, OR
******************

Friday is was supposed to be rainy and nasty, but it wasn't bad so I took my daughter and my youngest to the Tulip Fest. It was beautiful! I completely had my breath taken away by all the tulips. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. If you are ever in Oregon in April, this is a must-see.

******************

My husband is sick. He woke up in the middle of the night sick which means that I had to take the three kids to church by myself. Usually when this happens, it isn't so bad, but today it was a nightmare. Let's just say, I didn't get anything out of church today.

The weather people said that it was supposed to snow here today. Luckily they were wrong, and it is sunny and the kids are in the backyard playing. My oldest son's school is doing No TV week next week, so I am hoping that it is going to be sunny and we can play outside. Because if it rains all week, and we can't turn the TV on, I might not survive.

Sorry, this post is lame. Hopefully you'll enjoy the picture anyways.

Those tulips! Beautiful.

I didn't get anything out of church today either. But it was a tiny bit more pleasant. We got up, got dressed, walked into the chapel and I looked at my coughing littlest and thought there is no way I am sitting through the meeting with her and no way the doctor's diagnosis of just a cold is right so we turned around and went to the after hours clinic, got a diagnosis of bronchitis, some medicine and came home to a three hour nap.

Not as awesome as tulips, but awesome.

Good luck on the no TV! Does that include no videos or no watching things on the computer? Har! If it's raining I'd declare a postponement.

Cool. Dissecting squid! How fun is that!?

If I were better at planning, I would have said we should have coordinated our trips to the Tulip Farms! It would have been fun to hook up there.

Oh I love LOVE tulips!!

I never disected anything. I was conveniently absent the day we cut up the frog in science class...

That tulip festival sounds amazing. The squid sounds hideous...my kids would love it, though!

That picture is just gorgeous!

And I SO can sympathize about church. My DH doesn't go, so I take the two kids with me most weeks. At 1 and 5, they're not exactly quiet... there are many times when I either skip it (and then feel guilty) or else I come home and wonder why I bothered going at all, becuase I didn't get anything out of it.

And to answer your question from my SS post re: swaps... all the ones I'm doing these days come from Splitcoast Stampers. You can join the forums there for free- you don't necessarily have to stamp on many of the swaps, many times they are scrapbook pages. Check out the gallery there, too. :) I'm AmyMCGS there if you decide to join!

Gorgeous pic! Hope your hubby feels better soon. Everytime my hubbe gets sick he *shares* his germs with all of us so we all get sick...yuck!
