Last Saturday, we went in search of falls leaves (which are starting to appear around town!) and did a couple of hikes. First we did, Little Zigzag Falls. It was a easy hike, about a half mile each way. It was interesting because there were so many fallen trees along the trail and covering the river.
At the end we got to see this magnificent waterfall:
Next we did the Hidden Lake trail. It was two miles each way, and it was tough. It seemed like we would never get there at certain spots. We wouldn’t have gotten there is one little five-year-old didn’t keep insisting that we find out where “they hid the lake”.
Once we finally made it to the end, the lake was kind of disappointing:
But, we did it. And it was fun! (Except that part where the bee stung the nine-year-old. And maybe the part where it rained so hard.)

Ooh, so pretty.
Oregon has so many amazingly beautiful hikes. I rememebr one time when we were hiking in the pouring rain with a new baby in a stroller and a two year old. It was not fun :)
I love hiking. I'm jealous. ;)
