Around Here

Monday, February 1, 2010

I’m thinking…about how during the day when I’m not on the computer I can think of things to blog, but when I steal a couple minutes at Bryan’s computer, nothing comes to mind.

The kids….are back in school after a four day weekend.  Hallelujah!

For breakfast…the kids had banana bread, I had Fiber One cereal and Bryan ate out for a business meeting.  Lucky man.

On the menu for dinner…spaghetti, I guess.  Maybe I’ll make some breadsticks.  Anyone have a good recipe?

In the DVD playerThe Ladies’ No.1 Detective Agency (Season 1).  Based on the books by Alexander McCall Smith and produced by HBO. Good, clean entertainment.

On the nightstand…Just finished (finally!) The Parenting Breakthrough by Merrilee Boyack, and am about halfway through The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands by Dr. Laura.  Up next is Miss Delacourt Speaks Her Mind by Heidi Ashworth.

On DemandPsych and Burn Notice.  Still love Psych and am glad it’s back.  The makeup artist for Burn Notice didn’t do her (his?) work for the last episode.  Lips were too pink, skin was too tan, eyebrows were almost gone…Michael Weston just isn’t supposed to look like that.

Today…volleyball, laundry, reading, cleaning.

Amazed that…tulips are all ready poking their way through the ground.  Can spring really be right around the corner?  Did we really get no snow this winter? (One snowy evening doesn’t count in my book.)

Looking forward to…watching the Super Bowl with friends next weekend.  Just need to decide what appetizer to take…

What’s happening at your place?

I don't have a breadstick recipe, but I have a yummy cheese biscuit recipe that we eat with our spaghetti dinners. Email me if you want the recipe. :)

Kelly's recipe sounds really good. I might make that for my superbowl weekend. You've already read so many books for 2010. That is very cool.

did you dig The Parenting Breakthrough? I loved her lists of what she taught her boys during each year. I thought it was a FAB jumping off place for us to make our own lists.

Love Burn Notice and Psych. I forgot to set my timers for Psych since we got the new DVR. Dang it! Better get on that.

What's happening at my place is...I'm blanking. But life's not so bad, so that's good.

Thanks for the Olympic congrats!

I'm most jealous of you playing volleyball. I used to play in a league when I lived in Utah and miss it.

I really wish I had tulips coming up...we got fresh snow this morning. Sigh. I am so sick of winter.

If you do find a good breadstick recipe, do share!

tulips??! So not fair.

I love super bowl appetizers. Not making them, though, just eating them. :)
